It is an important transportation route. The section between Deûlémont and Deinze is canalized, it is suitable for boats of 1 350 tonnes. It is a wide waterway with concrete banks and intensive traffic.

Moor with the infrastructure provided for this purpose. Beware of the turbulence and aspirations of large merchant ships. Stay at a sufficient distance from the banks. Beware of professional traffic between Deûlémont and Deinze. Traffic quite intensive in summer.
