Led by the 'Oasis of Weeds', discover the floristic richness of the banks of Lys and its edible plants. From the Médiathèque de la Croix-du-Bac in Steenwerck, you will leave in the direction of the river and take a walk to raise awareness of the flora. You can even eat certain plants! Over a period of 2 hours, you will have the opportunity to learn about the botanical secrets offered by the environment of the Lys Valley and finish, on the return, with a tasting based on wild plants.
Plants, a true food source
A true enthusiast, Pascale BLAIRY takes you on the paths to discover all the floristic wealth that borders our roads. Step by step, you will discover that we are surrounded by an inexhaustible source of plants capable of integrating our food consumption.
Of Latin origin, flowering period but above all the ways of entering the kitchen of these plants, you will know everything about this flora, often source of proteins. You will even be led to taste seeds, leaves... directly on the spot and thus make discover a new flavor to your palates.
At the end of this walk, Pascale will invite you to explore your taste senses with some examples of dishes and drinks made from wild plants. Do not hesitate to bring your own picnic to enjoy this meridian break in the magnificent setting of the site of the Jardin de la Médiathèque.
